Our Feature:
Mary Ann Mulhern was born in St. Thomas, ON. She taught in St. Thomas, London and Windsor. She writes narrative poetry and has published eight books of poetry with Black Moss Press. Two of her books, “Touch the Dead” and “When Angels Weep”, were shortlisted for the Acorn-Plantos Award. Mary Ann was interviewed by Mary Hynes of CBC Radio’s Tapestry about her book “The Red Dress”, an all-revealing book about the life of a single woman who enters the convent and watches her life become transformed by the strict rules of the church and her religious order. Mary Ann’s most recent book, “The Midnight Moon Sings of Murder” tells the tragic tale of the Donnelly family of Lucan ON. Since April 2019, Mary Ann Mulhern has been Poet Laureate of Windsor.
